Polystyrene (PS)

Too high a temperature will release harmful substances, can not be placed in the microwave to heat, do not use it to install hot food, but also can not contain strong acid (if juice) and strong alkaline substances.

Divided into two types of foaming and non-foaming: foaming is a common foam plastic lunch box; unfoamed such as yogurt bottles; unfoamed light folds have white marks, usually can be torn by hand.

Commonly used in: ice containers, fast food boxes, cheap transparent products, foam plastics, CD boxes, water cups, snack boxes, insulation materials and so on. Advantages: transparency, heat resistance, commonly used to install high-temperature foods, such as bowls of instant noodles (now more paper containers), good cold resistance, a variety of shaved ice also love to use this container.

Note: If PS encounters strong acid or strong alkaline substances, it will produce harmful substances. Be careful when using PS equipment. Do not install acidic or alkaline foods. Do not pack hot food with a snack box, or use a microwave to heat the bowl with instant noodles. In addition, polystyrene is flammable, especially PS after foaming. Combustion produces a large amount of toxic gases. In some high-rise fire accidents, because the insulation layer material uses the widely used PS foam board, a large amount of smoke and toxic gas generated after the fire has become the main cause of a large number of casualties.
